Our much anticipated Disney World vacation was just as magical as we all hoped it would be! The planning process was insane (but would you expect from an organized Type A planner like me), but totally worth it. You should have seen my Excel file--five tabs, with plans for each park. Per John's request, I left some things up for spontaneous choices, but I liked knowing we had a general plan for each day.
John and Pop left on Friday and drove to South Carolina for the night. MaMa, the kids and I flew out early on Saturday morning and met the boys at the hotel. We stayed at The Beach Club Villas, and they were just amazing! John, the kids and I shared a 2-bedroom villa (complete with 2 separate bathrooms, kitchen and washer/dryer), and MaMa and Pop had a studio villa (sleeping area with small kitchen and bathroom). The amount of space was just perfect for us! The kids had their own room (I was a bit concerned about them sleeping together but they did a great job!) and John and I had another. Hip hip hooray for not having to (1) sleep on a pull-out couch and (2) not having to share a bedroom with the kids!
We rented an amazing double stroller (major props to John for his incredible online shopping abilities!) that came with cup holders, a rain cover (just in case--luckily it was never needed!), and a cooler. We Schmitt's like to travel in style. The stroller was a MUST-HAVE for us because it meant no one ended up carrying a kid and we had lots of space to store our "stuff". Who knew it took so much stuff to spend a day at theme park? Between the changes of clothes, hats, sunscreen, first aid supplies, snacks, drinks, and entertainment (for waiting in line), that stroller was stuffed!
Overall, we had an amazing, magical, incredible week. 6 amazing days. So many memories were made, so many incredible experiences were had by all. The only minor glitch was on Monday (Day #2) when my iPhone was stolen from our stroller at Epcot. A major bummer, yes, but I didn't lose any pictures from our trip, and in the grand scheme of things, it was only a slight irritation. Definitely not worth ruining our trip.
Stay tuned for pictures from each day at Disney!

Spring is in the air!
Spring has arrived in Virginia, which means unpredictable weather but lots of fun reasons to play outside. And in typical Schmitt family fashion, we've been staying very busy!
We've been to Maymont with good friends where we hiked, climbed and played.
We've been to the park, a lot! Now that both kids aren't napping, we have more afternoon play time. Sigh, I knew this "no nap" day was coming, but it hasn't made the transition any easier. Luckily, they both still have "quiet time" in their rooms, which helps keep everyone (especially me) sane. We've been able to meet at playgrounds with lots of our friends, and it's fun to end the day with friends.
And we've hunted eggs. Lots and lots of eggs. Our MOMS Club has an egg hunt every year and we also went to a Church egg hunt too. Kids (LOTS of kids), plastic eggs, candy, and temporary tattoos--what could possibly be better?!
