A Bum Ankle, Height, Turnips, and a day at the Ball Park

After a busy week catching up from being away for a week, the Schmitt's were ready to have a good weekend, with the exception of one of us. Dusty, fresh off getting kennel cough from his stay at the Holiday Barn, managed to sprain his ankle later in the week. (For those counting at home, that is 2 vet visits in one week for our wonderful, uninsured, pup).

For those out there who have slept with a sprained ankle, our dog has now found a way to handle the discomfort while being confined to his crate.

John Grayson had his 2 year check in with the pediatrician this past week. He is in the 65th percentile for weight and 88th percentile for height. I was getting a bit nervous that his birthday cake heavy diet over the past weeks would have had those numbers flipped. (Picture taken Saturday at the canal walk, I am so much taller than him... at least for the next 12-14 years)

As of now, Deuce (my affectionate name for our 2nd child, much to Allison's dismay), is about the size of a turnip. He/She has a long way to catch up to John Grayson and I.

On Sunday Morning, the Times-Dispatch reminded us that our Richmond Braves only had a couple more weekends of action before they leave us (thank you Mayor Wilder). So we packed up the family and headed out to see the Braves take on the arch-rival Toledo Mudhens.

Box Score From the Game:
4 - Different Seating Arrangements (JGray wanted to see the action from multiple angles)

30 - Minutes spent wandering the concourses finding food (JGray settled on a smoothie)

1 - Duck. What that has to do with the Richmond Braves, I have no idea...Either did JGray.

5 2/3 Innings - We made it that long at the game before JGray announced, 'Let's Leave'. I figure that would be a good outing for most Major League pitchers, so that is good enough for our family.

I am impressed that JGray made it that long. Not a bad outing.

Love the name Deuce. I am jumping on that bandwagon, sorry Al!
