Happy Birthday to Me!!

Even though JGray won't be turning two until next week, we had his birthday party on Saturday since we'll be at the beach on the actual day. Nine kids under the age of four pulled into the Schmitt station for a "Choo Choo" themed party. All of the kids were so well behaved and seemed to enjoy the goodies--hot dogs, watermelon, birthday cake and lots of balloons. John made a train out of old boxes for the kids to play on, and everyone had an absolute blast!!

Everybody helped open presents! My friends are so generous!

I love cake!

Even though it's the next day, I'm still having fun being the birthday boy!

Dancing Wahoo

For those who have been to our house in the evening, you might have witnessed the magic of the evening dance party that JGray likes to perform. Tonight, we were finally able to coax him into doing it for the camera.

First we caught him shaking and shimmying to the 'Hairspray' soundtrack.

I had another one to load, but the first one took too long. Maybe later.

January 24, 2009

The Schmitt Family has some very exciting news to share with everyone. John Grayson is going to be a big brother!! Baby Schmitt (currently the size of a large shrimp) is due January 24 and all is well with both mom and baby. JGray is convinced that he's having a sister (just ask him and he'll tell you), but we won't find out until September. For now this ultrasound picture will have to do.

New Pajamas

Over the weekend Aunt Sarah came to visit. Although she said she came to visit the whole family, it was clear that the highlight of her trip was spending time with her God-son. Along with a couple birthday presents (we can't believe he will be 2 in less than 2 weeks) he recieved a new pair of new airplane pajamas out of the deal.

As you can see, he still isn't sure how he feels about him, but he isn't shy about striking a pose. It may not be "Blue Steel", but I think that this kid might have a future.

JGray had a lot of fun with his Aunt Sarah in town. He spent a great deal of time teaching her how to play trucks and color. We think she got the hang of it by the end of the weekend.
