Finally......Top Teeth

Delia has been teething for weeks now and still no sign of her top teeth. That is, until this week! I put my finger in her mouth and discovered a top tooth, but it's a molar. Babies aren't supposed to get molars first. What happened to those cute top front teeth?!

As soon as the other teeth appear, I promise to post pictures!

Strawberry Picking

Spring in Virginia brings yummy fruit, especially strawberries! Since there wasn't a field trip to the berry patch this year and we weren't able to go with the Moms Club, I decided to take the kids strawberry picking by myself. I mean, how much trouble can two kids get into in the middle of a giant field of berries????

The weather was a little cold but JGray and Delia were ready to help Mommy pick some strawberries. Or should I say that JGray was ready to look for bugs and Delia was ready to eat any strawberry she could get her hands on. At the beginning, she was eating them as fast as I was picking them! I ended up having to put some directly into her small basket so she would leave me alone :-)

We picked for about 45 minutes (we collected about 4 quarts of berries) and then played on the small playground before heading home. Both kids were exhausted and were down for naps by 12:30!

Here are some pictures from our morning at the berry patch:

We had just arrived at the berry patch and Delia was already eating strawberries!

An attempt at posing for a picture

Eating another strawberry. She didn't care if they were covered in dirt or straw!

John Grayson said he found the perfect strawberry

Delia was still eating strawberries. Notice that she is covered in strawberry juice!

Getting Ready for Summer

The weather has been unseasonably warm recently. Even though it was May, the humidity made it feel like August. We decided to take advantage of the hot weather and brought the water table out onto the deck. John Grayson absolutely loves the water table, but this was Delia's first experience with it. She loves splashing in the tub, so it was no surprise that she was a huge fan of creating a giant mess on the deck!

John Grayson had so much fun getting wet! The water was cold but he leaned right over the water table and dunked his entire body.

Delia's first splashes of the season

Delia getting crazy. Notice that JGray has taken a step back from the table.

I love this!

Both kids were soaked by the end!

Who needs a power washer when you have an eager 3 year old?

Best Buddies

John Grayson has become very good friends with a little boy in his class named Jack. Everyday when I pick JGray up from school and asked who he played with, he always says "Jack L." (there's another boy named Jack in the class, so he will always be Jack L. to JGray).

Jack has a little brother named Charlie who is a few months older than Delia, so everyone has a friend to play with. I think that Delia has a serious crush on Charlie, but up to this point, Charlie has played hard to get. Delia is persistent, and I think she'll wear him down, eventually :-)

We meet Jack and Charlie at the park all the time, and I was able to snap a few pictures when I was chasing Delia.

Monkey see, monkey do. The boys were showing off their gymnastics moves, but I couldn't snap a picture with both of them upside down.

I tried very hard to get a picture of both boys smiling at me, but this is the best I could do.

Delia climbing through a tunnel. She loves the park and it's hard for me to keep up with her!

The boys also take a gymnastics class together. Like I said, they're best buddies :-)

Nap Time

John got home from a guys' weekend just before nap time. When Daddy said that he was taking a nap, John Grayson immediately said that he wanted to nap with him. I think both John and I thought it was very unlikely that JGray would actually sleep in the bed with John. Boy, were we wrong. I went upstairs a few minutes ago and here's what I found:
