There are so many things to mention about our sensational six year old, but here are just a few. At 6 years old, John Grayson:
- Is 3ft 8.5 inches tall and weighs 45 pounds. He's right in the middle for both, and we've assured him that he will grow, but probably late like his Daddy and Uncle Andy.
- Is reading! So far he's working through the BOB Books series on his own, but we still read to him at night. We've read lots of books to him over the past year, including some Roald Dahl books (James and the Giant Peach), The Mouse and the Motorcycle, The Boxcar Children and so many of the Magic Treehouse series that it's hard to keep track.
- Is so so ready for Kindergarten! He's counting down the days and said that he's most excited about riding the bus.
- Learned to swim this summer and conquered the diving board and slide.
- Is very into Legos. He likes to build his own creations more than he likes following the given directions. He builds some amazing cars/trucks/airplanes.
- Loves the Chicago Bears. JGray is very excited for football season to begin. It's safe to say that John's job of passing along his love for all things Bears has been successful.
- Loves to play games (card games, board games).
- Discovered a love of roller coasters. During our trip to Disney World, JGray fell in love with roller coasters and loved riding them at Busch Gardens this summer.
- Had a super fun Olympics themed birthday party!
- Is very excited about becoming a big brother for the second time.
- Is excited to play soccer again this fall. JGray and his good buddy T are on the same team and the dads are coaching. The boys jumped up to the 6 year old league so we decided that it would be best for the dads to coach and ensure they have a good season.
Here are some pictures from JGray's 6th Birthday Party:
